The best climbing venues of Málaga province are undoubtedly El Chorro and Villanueva del Rosario. These 2 areas have a big variety of climbing types, different altitude and therefore, different weather conditions. Both locations have very easy access from Malaga and Antequera, even if you’re not driving.
In order to reach El Chorro, you can take a train that links Málaga and Seville. For Villanueva Del Rosario, there are 3 buses per day from Málaga and it is only a 45 min ride.
Last week, we offered a rock climbing & Via Ferrata tour which included both locations. It was a rewarding experience to be teaching our students in fantastic weather many different climbing skills in a variety of settings. Below there is a sample of the beautiful places where we climbed.
