s.In southern Spain, the shady climbing areas of Villanueva del Rosario plus Rocabella, Escalera Arabe and Desplomilandia in El Chorro are some of the best venues for sport climbing in Malaga province.
The Via Ferrata in El Chorro also enjoys sun & shade but, starting early, ensures you will not get too hot because the many of the upper sections face north and are shady, which is perfect for climbing in the Summer.
All these climbing venues have an open aspect, great views and enjoy a gentle breeze, which makes the temperature very pleasant. To make the experience even better, we can finish it with a cool off swim in the reservoirs which are below the crags.
