Although Summer is often too warm to climb in the sun, there are several venues in Malaga province where you can enjoy a pleasant climbing temperature. Here, I will described just one example of a great day climbing in the mountain area of Villanueva del Rosario, just 38 km north of Malaga.
In the morning we could take you to the boulders located at the Mirador de Alto Hondonero, are over 1000 m above sea level, and therefore cool conditions. After 12, we could take you to the shady walls next to Chilam Balam Cave which offer many routes graded V’s & 6’s.
We were visited by Magadalena & Jakub from from Poland last week and we took them to these 2 areas to enjoy a ‘combined day’ -boulderig & sport climbing- which they loved.
